नेशनल फैमिली हेल्थ सर्वे (NFHS)-5 की दूसरी रिपोर्ट में 28 राज्य और आठ केंद्र शासित प्रदेश के लोग शामिल हैं. सर्वे में देशभर के 707 जिलों के 6.37 घर और परिवार शामिल हैं. इस सर्वे 8.25 लाख लोगों से बातचीत करके आंकडे जुटाए गए हैं. जिसमें 724155 महिलाएं और 101839 पुरुष के जबाव शामिल हैं. सर्वे मे यह सामने आया है कि, परिवार नियोजन कार्यक्रम की वजह से आज देश के कई राज्यों में प्रजनन दर दो आई है. जबकि, देश में 67 प्रतिशत लोग गर्भनिरोधक साधन का उपयोग करते हैं. जबकि, पिछले सर्वे में 54 प्रतिशत लोग ही गर्भनिरोधक के साधन ही अपनाते थे.
देश में पाचं राज्य ऐसे हैं. जहां पर प्रति महिला बच्चाें का औसत 2.2 से घटकर 2 हाे गया है. इसमें मध्य प्रदेश, राजस्थान, झारखंड भी शामिल हैं. परिवार नियाेजन संसाधन के उपयाेग का प्रतिशत 54 से बढ़कर 67 हाे गया है. इसके साथ ही देश में संस्थागत प्रसव 79% से बढ़कर 89 हाे गए हैं. नेशनल फैमिली हेल्थ सर्वे (NFHS)-5 की रिपोर्ट में भारत का टीएफआर 2 पर रहने से साफ है कि, यह रिप्लेसमेंट लेवल से नीचे है. जिससे अब देश की आबादी घटनी शुरू होगी.
देश में संस्थागत प्रसव का दायरा बढ़ा
देश में संस्थागत प्रसव का दायरा बढ़ा है. अब अस्पताल में 89% बच्चे पैदा हो रहे हैं. पहले सर्वे में यह आंकड़ा 79% था. चौंकाने वाली बात यह है कि, ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों में 87% संस्थागत प्रसव हो रहे हैं. जबकि, शहरी क्षेत्र में 94% संस्थागत प्रसव हुए हैं. सबसे चौंकाने वाली बता यह है कि, असम, बिहार, मेघालय, छत्तीसगढ़, नागालैंड, मणिपुर, उत्तर प्रदेश व पश्चिम बंगाल में 10 प्रतिशत संस्थागत प्रसव बढ़े हैं.
अधूरे शारीरिक विकास वाले बच्चे घटे
5 साल से छोटे 36 प्रतिशत बच्चों में धीमा या अधूरा शारीरिक विकास (स्टंटिंग) मिला है. जबकि, पिछली बार के सर्वे में 38 प्रतिशत था. गांवों में ऐसे बच्चे 37% और शहरों में 30% थे. इस मामले में सबसे ज्यादा सुधार हरियाणा, उत्तराखंड, उत्तर प्रदेश, राजस्थान और सिक्किम में 7% हुआ है.
